Landin Services Connects with Virginia's Insurance Community at IIAV and PIA Tradeshows

This summer, the Landin Services team had the opportunity to exhibit at two of Virginia’s premier insurance industry events—the IIAV Annual Convention & Trade Show in Virginia Beach and the PIA Virginia/DC Annual Trade Fair & Convention in Danville.

At the IIAV Convention, held at the Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront, we enjoyed connecting with insurance professionals from across the Commonwealth, sharing information about our workers’ compensation administration and risk management services, and strengthening relationships with agency partners. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to visit with our team.

We also had a wonderful time exhibiting at the PIA Virginia/DC Annual Trade Fair & Convention, held in partnership with PIA North Carolina at Caesars Virginia in Danville. The event provided another great opportunity to reconnect with longtime partners, meet new industry professionals, and discuss the value Landin Services brings to employers, agents, and self-insured groups.

We appreciate everyone who took the time to visit our booth at both events. We look forward to continuing these relationships throughout the year and hope to see you again at future industry events!

The Dewey Invitational

What a great day at the Dewey Invitational! Landin Services was proud to spend the day supporting an event that continues to make a meaningful impact in our community. From time on the course to great conversations and live music, the energy throughout the event was incredible.

Most importantly, it was inspiring to come together in honor of David R. Cheatham and support causes that touch so many lives through the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society. We’re grateful to be part of an event centered around connection, remembrance, and giving back.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the day so special.

Second Annual DOLI Trench Safety Summit

Our OSH Consultant Chuck Dennison attended the Second Annual DOLI Trench Safety Summit in Roanoke earlier this week, and the experience reinforced just how critical trench safety truly is.

The summit brought together VOSH representatives, firefighters, contractors, and safety professionals for hands-on learning and powerful discussions. One especially impactful moment was hearing Eric Giguere share his firsthand account of surviving a trench collapse—a story that underscored how quickly conditions can turn life-threatening.

A live trench rescue demonstration by Roanoke Fire & EMS highlighted another important reality: trench rescues are complex and time-intensive. Emergency teams must assess soil conditions, monitor for hazardous gases, install protective systems, and carefully excavate—often taking hours. Unfortunately, most victims don’t have that kind of time.

The takeaway is clear: prevention is everything. Proper trench safety practices—especially for excavations 5 feet or deeper—are not optional. They are essential to protecting lives.

We’re committed to continuing to educate and reinforce these standards with our clients and partners. Safety isn’t just compliance—it’s preparation, awareness, and action every single time.
